Product Designer

Post Overview:

As a product designer at Antakh, you are primarily responsible for developing our market offering. As such, your role is incremental for the organization’s vision of becoming the global icon for alternative furniture.

That being said your role involves constantly improving current offerings alongside developing and innovating new offerings in accordance with market requirements. To do so, you have to both be aware of market trends and work closely with both the marketing and business development teams.

Your roles also includes the visual representation of our offerings. In the regard, you shall assist both the marketing team and the business development team.

You shall also work closely with the production team both on prototyping and fabrication.

Post Duties and Responsibilities:


  • You are to be constantly aware of the global furniture trends and advancements

  • You are to be fully aware of the furniture trends, advancements, and players in all active markets

  • You are to research all materials of interest and their suppliers

  • You are to be aware of all what is new in the furniture industry in terms of production advancements


Resource Development:

  • You are to create a database of materials of interest and ensure that it is always up-to-date

  • You are to build good relationships with suppliers

  • You are to continuously experiment with materials of interest and validate their usability


Design & Innovation:

  • You are to design and innovate new products in our current categories. All designs must by based on market feedback, business development requirements and global trends

  • You are to pitch designs to your manager and to concerned team members

  • You should prepare technical files for approved designs

  • You are to lead the prototyping process with the production team and provide your suggestions for an ongoing production process


Visual presentation:

  • You are to work with the marketing team and the business development team for the visual presentation and representation of our product ranges at all physical channels

  • You are to work closely with the marketing team for the visual representation of products on all online channels



To be qualified for this post candidates must fulfil the following criteria



  • B.A. in Management in applied arts or related field Work Experience:

  • 1 -3 years of work experience in a relevant field. Start-up experience is a plus



  • English and Arabic fluency (written, read and conversational)



  •  Research: Ability to research new business areas and synthesize large amount of information to develop project strategies

  • Communication: Excellent communication skills and ability to negotiate among partners. Excellent

  • Planning and organizing: Ability to work independently with minimal guidance. Ability to organize and prioritize tasks

  • Creativity: Actively seek to offer new and different options to solve problems

  • Technical ability: You are to have excellent command of design skills and the required software (CAD, 3D Modelling, and Graphic Design). Adobe and Autodesk suites are preferred.

  • Accountability: Takes ownership of all responsibilities and honors commitments; delivers outputs for which one has responsibility within prescribed time, cost and quality standards; operates in compliance with organizational regulations and rules.

  • Professionalism: Ability to approach work with energy and a positive, constructive attitude
